
The DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service promotes international academic and scientific exchange for students and faculty from all across the global.
Many indian students from reputed engineering colleges
such as IIT's, BITS, IIIT's and NIT's undertake summer internships at esteemed universities in Germany through DAAD scholarship schemes. There are many schemes to undertake short term (2-3 months) and long term internships (5-6 months).Gererally DAAD releases adervtisment around August of any academic year. Students apply for WISE scheme (Working Internships in Science and Engineering, 90 days internship in summer ) mainly in the month of November. They provide a stipend of 650 Euro per month and lumpsum of 525 Euro as travelling charges. There are many requirements that must be satisfied to get the scholarship. They are mentioned below.
1) Candidate must have an internship offer from a German host.
(German host must be from a research institute of university, not from a company)
2) Candidate must be graduating from a good reputed college in India.
3) Students must be studying in 3rd, 5th or 7th semester at the time of application.
4) Student's GPA must be above 7.5.
5) Candidate must have a valid passport at the time of application.
6) Must also have a letter of recomendation from a reputed faculty.
7) Good percantage of marks at STD 10th and 12th.
