TCS Interview Questions 2010

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one the mass recruiters of fresh engineers in the country. It usually recruits from all kinds of colleges across the country, doesn't matter whether its a local college, NIT, BIT, IIIT, or an IIT. Package of TCS is maily around 3.15 lacs per annum for B.Tech Graduates and 3.30 for M.Tech people.

They selected 80 students of our batch of 2006-2010 at IIIT Allahabad on 29th Dec 2009. Its one of those companies which can be easily cracked. Its selection procedure consist of 4 round viz. Written ( English vocabulary, Verbal and Aptitute section) followed by Technical, Managerial and HR Interview.

Written round consists of english vocabulary which can be practiced using BARRON's GRE Book. Mainly the Questions are repeated from that book only. English section consists of 32 questions out of which 20 are of antonyms and synonyms. Second section in written consists of simple quantitative questions.

Total number of questions in the written paper is usually 82. The cutoff score to get through the written round usually hovers around 40.

Technical Interview depends upon your interviewer. Sometimes the technical interviewer don't ask any technical questions. Managerial Interview round is a non elimination round but its performance affects the HR interview. If your technical interview goes well, and the interviewer is satisfied with your communication skills and MR and HR interviews are just a formality.

Communication Skills does matters a lot in MR and HR Interviews. The questions asked must be tackled with confidence and also in a diplomatic manner. Don't be true always, bluff wherever it matters.

Technical Round

1) Write a C Program to reverse a string. Explain it.

2) Asked some simple puzzles.

Managerial Interview

1) Give an example of relationship between information technology and electronics.

2) What is a Control System.

3) Give a real life example of control system

3) Do you know about Software Engineering cycle.

4) What are pointers in C ?

5) What are data structures?

6) Why linklist is preffered over Array ?

7) How is memory allocated in a memory ?

8) Write down a program to print fibonacci series in C.

9) Why do you want to join TCS ?

10) Whether you wish to study further? if not why ?

HR Questions

1) Tell me about yourself.

2) Tell me something about your home state.

3) Who are your idols ?

4) Where do you see yourself after 5 years.

5) In which part of country would you like to join ?
