Trace Website IP Address

Internet is global system where many computers are interconnected via Computer Network.

Every computer in a computer network is identified using some unique numbers viz. Logical address and the Physical address. Physical addresses (or MAC address) are implemented in Data Link layer of a Data Communication Network to ensure node to node delivery of physical frames. Logical addresses (or IP Addresses) are implemented in the network layer to ensure source to destination delivery of data packets. IP addresses are unique for each computer system in a network. Similarly, a website server too has its unique IP Address.

An IP address is a 32 bit number in which every 8 bits is separated by a dot (.). They are represented in decimal format as dotted decimal numbers.

E.g. 202.64.53.120 or 11001010.01000000.00110101.01111000

When we type any website’s URL in the address bar of any internet browser, then we are redirected to its server. A website server has at least one IP address which can be used to determine the physical location the server. Instead of the IP address, we use the URL to view the website. There are many ways by which we can find out the IP address of a website using its URL. One the method is described below to trace the IP on a windows operating system.

Step 1: Go to the start button of your Windows Operating system and click on Run.

Step 2: Type ‘cmd’ (without quotes) and press enter to get to the command window.

Step 3: Type ‘tracert’ (without quotes) followed by the URL of the website of which IP is being traced.

E.g. tracert www.google.com

Step 4: Traceip start searching at our IP address and go through all the intermediate steps to locate the final IP address of a website server.

This IP address can now be used to determine the location of the Website Server.

How to do Google Video and Voice Chat

Step 1

To use Google video and voice chat with a friend, you and your friend both need to have google accounts.

Step 2

If you both have google email (gmail) accounts, now download and install the google voice and video chat plugin here :

http://mail.google.com/videochat

Install the required plugin into gmail which allows you to have video chat with your friends.

Step 3

After installing the google video and voice chat plug in, restart your browser.

Step 4

Once you have restarted the browser, log into gmail.

A video camcorder icon now appears by your names instead of the green dot in your gmail now, if you have a webcam installed. (Make sure you both are NOT invisible). Now you both are ready to video chat with each other.

Step 5

Hover the mouse on your friend's name and a menu should appear to the right of the mouse showing their name and options of what you can do with them (like email, chat, video&more)

Step 6

Select "Start video Chat". Your friend now sees a chat window pop up with a video and hear ringing. Now a google video chat with your friend has been initiated.

Your friend should click on "Answer" ...and now you can see each other and video chat!

New Teams in IPL season 2011

Indian Premier League has been now extended to 10 franchise teams from 2011 onwards. This year total of 60 matches are going to be played but from next year the number of matches will be increased to 95. The length of the league will be increased.

The two new franchise teams introduced are Pune and Kochi. The cities in the fray were Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Vizag, Rajkot, Cuttack, Baroda, Kochi, Indore and Gwalior.

The cities in the picture were Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Vizag, Rajkot, Cuttack, Baroda, Kochi, Indore and Gwalior.

The Sahara Adventure Sports Group has won the Pune bid at USD 370 million while the Rendezvous Sports World Limited has landed the Kochi bid at USD 333.33 million.

Apart from the two successful bidders, other groups which took part in the bidding were Adani Groups, VC Digital Solution (Videocon) and a Pune consortium.

The Videocon group apparently had the backing of Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor but they failed to bag a team.

Minister of State for External Affairs Mr. Shashi Tharoor had also very good interest in the bid for Kochi franchise.
